So your kid is into this “anime” thing? They won’t stop talking about some ninja named Naruto or some girl that runs around in a skirt and calls herself Sailor something?
Or maybe you’re a parent who already loves anime and you want to get your young child involved. Figuring out what titles are appropriate for different ages or when your kid can first attend a con are issues that parents wrestle with, and my goal is to give you tools to help figure these things out.
You want to be a good parent, encourage their interests, and share something with your kids. Kids, even teens, do want approval from their parents and to feel like they can talk about their interests. Sure, a teen might hold back some things, but the more parents and teens can talk about things, the better their relationship.
This book isn’t for the parents who think that anime is the devil’s work (and I’ve known a few), but for parents who just want to have a better understanding of their child’s addictions and understand why teens like cartoons. It’s also a book for parents who want to introduce their own child to their love of anime and video games.
And kids and teens? Don’t worry, this book is safe to give your parents. I won’t reveal all our secrets, just hopefully help open up a better relationship between you and your parents based around your interests.
